@over30momtips: we definitely do screen time over here… after school snack + tv to unwind then we play and sometimes a little more at night too it’s not the same every day some days more than others just trying to find a balance and let go of the guilt #toddlermom #toddlermomlife #momlifebelike #momsover30 #momsbelike

My son watches Toy Story every single day on the big tv. We don’t do any phone tv or tablets. That’s how I was raised, that’s a win in my book

I found my people in these comments. We don’t limit it, she watches educational videos or kids movies only. It’s mostly background noise while she plays and only on a tv.

I control what she watches vs how much. I’ve learned screen time is like candy. Treat it like a reward and they just want it that much more. No limits (within reason) and they really don’t care that much about it?

I think it’s more about what’s on the screen than how much screen!!!!! Do what works best for you and your babes🤍

We do like an hour a day.. maybe more if my husband doesn’t make it home in time for me to make dinner. We’re just out here surviving.

Concerning the iPad, 2-3 hours every morning (he wakes up earlier than me and I’m not a morning person) and 2 hours in the afternoon/early evening when we’re winding down and getting dinner prepped. He’s 5 and homeschooled. I don’t count TV as or when we use iPad/TV for his schooling.

Tv is on most of the day. They watch when they want, but majority of the time they're playing while it's on in the background.

I always have a kid show on. My son has a few favorite shows that have him glued to the tv so I don’t put those on often or else he could sit there for hours if I let him. I’ll put on a show that doesn’t grab his interest too much so that way he goes and plays with toys still but then randomly will stop for a few minutes to watch it!

1 hour a day for 6, 7, and 11 year old after homework is done and bed is made etc. we use an app called OurPact that allows us to control time and apps. They can pause their time and come back to it if they want but then when time is done the device goes back to just the basic apps. TV they don’t seem to care about except for Saturday mornings and they can take turns watching shows 🤷🏾‍♀️

Our tv is on just about all day every single day. If we’re home it’s on, usually playing Disney/Pixar movies or shows of some sort. My almost 2 year old will stop and watch sometimes and when she’s tired she’ll sit and watch but otherwise she does a lot of playing just while the tv is on.

We do an episode or two of trash truck when he wakes up and has his milk/pre breakfast snack and then it’s off until around dinner time which he usually watches something low stimulating when I’m trying to cook/clean before my husband gets home, and then we do a movie before bed with milk as a family. But it’s off other than those times! But some days we have it on a little longer- each day is different!

In the winter it’s a lot. I don’t even want to know the number of hours truthfully. In the spring, summer and fall it’s very minimal like 1-2 hrs a day.

(1) Work / School Days: 15 min in the mornings / 30 min after we get home (basically to help parents pack stuff for the day and start dinner).

Right now, we're watch 40min-1 hour per day on weekdays - so like two or three 20min episodes of something. I don't really set limits on the weekends. 🤷🏼‍♀️

We do screen time. She watches what she wants. Call me a bad mom but it also lets me gets things done too. She’ll let me know what she wants. I don’t put on certain shows anymore after realizing how overstimulating they can be. She isn’t watching all the time either sometimes we sit & play with her toys or go to another room to play something else. I’m sick of parents saying “it’s so bad” when almost all of us grew up watching movies or cartoons

My 4 year old probably watches 1-2 hours a day - no iPad and no high stim shows though. My 2 year old watches some but she just doesn’t care about it. Some days they watch more especially during the winter months some days they watch none at all. I used to feel guilty but I think balance is key

We do a family movie on Sundays! Other than that he doesn’t get screen time unless it’s something special. Like a road trip or he’s at Mimi’s 😂

He had almost none except for the occasional family movie night until he was ~20 months old. Then I was SUPER sick so the TV was always on so he would leave me alone to puke. Now generally we watch a movie in the evening 3/4 nights a week, and he will have occasional TV time if I’m having a particularly rough day or need to get things done, but only for about an hour, maybe 2 at 26 months! It definitely takes time to find a balance, but I find that he naps better when he has less screen time in the morning and I don’t want to compromise that because I need that time to nap too lol

Honestly, our TV broke 2 months ago. So zero-no screen time most weeks, right now we’re enjoying😅 BUT say we still had a TV, they’d get more.
