@ollie_eats: Welcome to Chinatown. I’ll be honest this place intimidates me. So many options, no idea where to start but that’s exactly why I’m trying to change that. So I headed to @noodleandbeerltd and this is exactly the kind of spot that makes it easier. This isn’t your typical Chinese buffet. The menu’s stripped back and focused on bold Sichuan flavours think noodle dishes, rich curries, spicy loaded fries, face-numbing dumplings, and proper statement plates. We kicked things off with the Sichuan dumplings that proper chilli heat with the numbing kick. Then the surprise of the menu the potatoes. Fried in Sichuan pepper, crispy, addictive genuinely some of the best fries I’ve had. But the main event is the Super King braised beef rib with blanket noodles (£23.80). A whole slow-cooked rib, fall-apart tender, sitting on top of thick hand-cut noodles. It’s rich, comforting, and actually a bit more mellow on the spice so if you’re not all about the heat, this is the move. And just to push it further, I tried their beef rendang special a nice switch up from the Sichuan-heavy menu. Upstairs is casual dining, but downstairs is where it gets interesting a late night, sultry cocktail bar open until 4am. This feels like one of those spots that hits differently late at night.
