I never understood why people hated the Jag sharing about 20% of its parts with a Mondeo while happily buying A4s which were basically reskinned Passats. Especially since that gen of Mondeo was a brilliant car.

I did some work on the x-type production line, designing a hub surface measurement system to check that the wheels would fit perfectly. it marked the high spot on the hub surface, so the wheel could be aligned just right. However, it turned out that the Mondeo parts already exceeded the spec the tool was designed to measure against. x-type was the Mondeo of all Mondeos.
