I mean you aren’t far off but to be exact demon slayer takes place during the Taishō Era 1912-1926 which slightly overlaps into WW1 but has never touched WW2 it would also explain how Genya has a double Barrel shotgun in demon slayer since they existed since the 1800s in Meiji Era Japan and the Victorian Era
