Hey Jason! Just started this week thanks to your inspiration. I started my engineering degree because I loved 3D printing (making FUNCTIONAL parts), I took a single mechatronics class and fell in love with the practicality of microcontrollers. I followed you because you mentioned 555 timers and opened my eyes to that wonderful world. I dropped my first arbitrary idea literally today on ETSY because I thought I found a gap in the market and wanted to explore it (just like your LENR project). Of course I’m not a business guy just a curious engineer so any secrets with that end would be very very helpful coming from your point of view!

Hey everyone! I’ve been a manufacturing engineer for about 15 years and I just started my business, MachX Precision, back in August 2025 in Gallatin, Tennessee. We purchased a 3- axis vertical milling machine, welding equipment and other general shop equipment to get started. We are hoping to get on-boarded with Xometry to generate initial revenue. We just submitted our application and shipped our mill test part this week! We’re hoping to get into aviation parts production or custom automated machine building but are open to opportunities and haven’t found our niche yet. In my career as a manufacturing engineer I have a broad knowledge of many processes including spray coatings, rubber injection molding, rubber mixing, die forming pressing and assembly, E-Coating, some plastic injection molding and blow molding, automated assembly processes, liquid process equipment, chemical manufacturing, etc. I also have various technical skills including, mechanical design, CAD, CAM, FEA, machining, welding, controls, programming (PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, Robots, Servos, etc), pneumatics and hydraulics, new equipment launches and integration. Would love to collaborate on some projects and get involved with the community!

Jason, you’re awesome 👏🏻 I want to start manufacturing basically thin maybe 2-3mm thick stainless steel backing plates. They have screw holes and they’re indented slightly kind of like a steel pan. There indented about an 1/2 inch. They are 3” x 6“ square with small holes for bolts that go around it. I only really need about 10 in one month made. I don’t need a lot lol. I would love to manufacture them but I don’t entirely know what machinery I would need to make that happen. I was thinking some sort of dye and getting a hand press and just hand pressing them out 🤷🏻♂️If it’s not too much time for you, I would love to know how you might go about making this type of thing. I run a small classic car shop down in Florida. Focusing primarily on Mopars (Dodge/Plymouth) cars and trucks from the 60s/70s. Working on a prototype for a part that isn’t made anymore, 3D printed a prototype and waiting for some Nylon/Carbon Fiber material to make the functional piece from.
