The Greek word used - Χαῖρε means "greetings" and in this sense it has a more emotional context and would be understood as "rejoice" or "be glad to see this moment." the next word is κεχαριτωμένη, means "one who has been graced." she was given grace by God. Together it would be "rejoice, favored one" or in lay terms - be happy in this moment because God has found favor for you. He is NOT greeting her as royalty, and is NOT saying that she is sinless.

As a Lutheran this is valid and we should all be honoring the Holy Virgin Mary and praying the Hail Mary, I even pray a rosary from time to time and probably should more often.

Here’s how I think about it in the Magnificat when she sings about her being chosen in the Bible she says behold all generations will call me blessed and we are the generations calling her blessed. And also on the cross when Jesus tells John behold your mother and Woman behold your son yes it was practical but it was also spiritual giving her to us and us to him
