At year 10 I am finally where I thought I would be around year 1 or 2 😐

I have been trying for 13 years. I suck. I almost quit this year. maybe Someday I will be able to eat more than 1 meal from an entire season of growing.

It took me a good few years to build soil health and learn what is worth growing based off family preferences. It was worth it. It’s a labour of love

Also most of the costs are upfront! You’ll lose money at first and make it up

I try and tell newbies that they need to accept that things like gardening and canning are a long term investment not always seasonally rewarding. It takes time and money... over time. I encourage them to start with a couple of plants and in pots or something so you don't get overwhelmed. Same with canning.

I needed to hear this today. I’ll not appreciate my future success if I don’t learn from my failures

I'm missing my old small garden without slugs. It was so much easier growing food there than it is here.

This is such HREAT starting gardener perspective!
it does get easier; accumulated knowledge, better understanding about your soil, natural light cycle (where, and when), just commuting with whatever space you have will tell you SO much if you let it🤭
