I try and tell newbies that they need to accept that things like gardening and canning are a long term investment not always seasonally rewarding. It takes time and money... over time. I encourage them to start with a couple of plants and in pots or something so you don't get overwhelmed. Same with canning.

This is such HREAT starting gardener perspective! it does get easier; accumulated knowledge, better understanding about your soil, natural light cycle (where, and when), just commuting with whatever space you have will tell you SO much if you let it🤭
