@funnelvision: We as Christ-followers should make efforts to live in peace with EVERYONE, not just people who think or look like us. Thats Hebrews 13:14 ... it goes on to say live a holy lifestyle and this is echoed in other parts of scripture. Do we believe God is real? Are we acting like it? Jesus asked us to stand apart and be different. If you put a Christ-follower side by side with someone that doesn't believe Jesus is God, do we look exactly the same? Can anyone tell you apart? Jesus says just because people claim to know Him, He will truly know by how they live there life and if they are found to not live a holy life, they will not see the Kingdom of God. Verse 15 asks us look after one another so that no one made fall short of God's grace. So if someone isn't acting right, we aren't to condemn them but rather guide them back to what is holy. Iron sharpens iron, we should be uplifting one another. When we do, we help reach those that do not yet know Jesus so that they may see what God's love looks like as we are to embody Christ. The verse goes on to say not to let bitterness grow in your heart and become rooted because IT WILL CAUSE TROUBLE and it will bring ruin on yourself and others. True Faith in following ALL OF THE WORDS of Jesus will 100% lead towards a heart transformation. So if you are someone that has a hard time finding peace in your life because others tick you off or have done you wrong. If you feel you cannot forgive. If you find yourself depressed, hating yourself. Look towards Jesus and find people to be in your life that believe in the words of Jesus and they can help strengthen you BUT DO NOT PUT ALL YOUR TRUST IN MAN. They can and will let you down, God has given us His word in the Holy Bible and if you seek to understand it, you will undoubtedly find the answers.
