I've always followed the spirit, not the letter, of the BRAT diet. Avoiding inflammatory foods like hot sauce or spicy food, deep fried food, very acidic foods etc. but otherwise eating fresh, healthy choices. I didn't realize doctors meant LITERALLY eating only bread, rice, etc. 😳

Makes sense. I normally eat a high fiber diet. Lots of leafy greens, whole grains etc. Recently had a colonoscopy. As everyone knows the early prep doesn't allow those things. Basically the BRAT diet. Stopped me up bad! Had to go an extra day on clear stuff just to get things "cleared " out in time.
