I able to trace my paternal line all the way back. My paternal 6x great-grandfather to Belfast Ireland. My 5x great-grandfather fought in the American Revolution. My 5x great-grandfather was from West Africa, and he won his freedom before the Civil War, and I have an entire line in the early 1800s Illinois.

I can trace as far back as 7 generations on my dads side. My great grandmother is 100 years old and her grandmother is from Florida. I want to trace as much as I can. American through n through.

It’s crazy how when people look at skin color to decide how close white people are in your family line. They aren’t always as close as you think.

People are obsessed with ignoring us being here mixing for centuries because they want us shamed to be American. There’s 3-4 generations alive at a time.

So true. My ancestry is all kinds of mixed. I even have hatian in there. The most recent update said I was “Creole, and from a Creole region” like DUH! lol I’m a New Orleans girl. It’s been decently spot on 🖤

The deepest roots. My first enslaved ancestor who I can find was in the early 1700s. On my boricua side, it’s the 1550s. We are inherently a mixed race.

People think that because we weren’t always tracked by name, that we weren’t documented. Oh we were documented HEAVILY.
