It is a system of sexual exploitation in which women are devalued, women are turned into commodities, women are sold as meat, women are, in fact, tortured. And that usage of women is being sold in this country as entertainment for masses of people. And the impact of that system of sexual exploitation on women's civil status is such that we are relegated to second-class citizenship in a way that is virtually irreparable for us. Pornography creates both physical aggression towards women and attitudes and behaviors of discrimination. And it makes every struggle that we have towards civil equality essentially ridiculous, because the reality is that $8 billion a year worth of pornography is sold in this country.
