Master Hyundai tech here, that’s a super common issue, along with the the oil filter housing. I always recommend to the customer to replace both at the same time since you’re in there, save them from paying for labour again down the road when it does decide to leak. My biscuits and gravy lol

That’s called oil migration through the harness. I remember Mercedes and BMW has this common issue where oil migration reaches the ecm or tcm. And it would mess up the car bad.

My Hyundai dealership just told me the same thing for my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport with 89k miles and bc it’s not considered powertrain - Hyundai won’t cover it. They said it’s “ electrical” and I need to replace the wiring harness is a non covered component.

Super common issue - most of us have a shaved wrench to replace that pressure switch - saves time and unnecessary hassle. That valve cover is super common too. Leaks over the alternator - TSB is out of that we have a little drip tray that supersedes the original design.

Im a Hyundai tech and so far I’ve seen something close ish to this. It was the oil pressure sensor that travelled up through the wiring.

lol I was coming to say oil pressure sensor. Just had one in the shop 2 weeks ago. They swore it was a rear main. I knew it wasn’t.

Snapon actually makes a socket just for those oil pressure sensors. A 1/4in 24mm with a long shaft thin wall. Makes doing them between intake runners a breeze
