The Ainu culture is gorgeous. Ghost of Yotei is a fun way to learn more about them and their culture, and of course, Golden Kamuy is great if you're into manga/anime.

My maternal grandfather is an Ainu person.But due to some conflicts with the government back then(before 1980s), he felt our people wasn't treated right and tried to take my family to immigrate to other countries.My maternal grandpa and his kids(my aunt, uncle, mom) lives in Vietnam now.Sometimes I get real overwhelm about identity issues and it's really sad that my grandpa didn't have the chance to learn more of the Ainu's laguange before he go, same as me, I didn't know any words

if yall are curious about ainu culture read golden kamui, it's a super fun adventure story that goes incredibly in depth on ainu culture (the author worked with several museums and ainu cultural groups to ensure the info was as accurate as possible)

A Polish anthropologist Bronisław Piłsudski was one of the first people to document the Ainu people. From what I know there were even his descendants (the last one died in 2022) that were Ainu and lived in Hokkaido.
