I made everyone except my husband stay out of my room and leave me alone. I didn’t want an iv, epidural, nothing. I was left completely alone until I felt like pushing. It went great a very quickly. Best decision ever.

I don’t think we talk enough about the fact that everyone experiences pain differently, has different labors and different pain tolerance. Just because you didn’t think it was doesn’t mean another women won’t find it incredibly painful and vice versa.

I say “try” because I’m fairly confident in my pain tolerance but don’t want myself to feel let down or like I failed because I didn’t. I want to “try” but know that it’s okay if I can’t do it and if I don’t tell myself that then I will be way too hard on myself.

I LOVED my unmedicated births, the post birth high was unreal, the recoveries were easy, and the golden hour(s) were so much better

I’m due in two weeks and my doctor said “just go in and know it’s going to hurt, don’t be afraid of the pain because it’s going to come but it’s normal and on the other end of the pain is your baby.”

One thing I didn’t fully mentally prepare for was that labor can take soooo long! I was in labor for almost 30 hours. Also I totally agree having people around me that supported me and believe in me was the most comforting thing ever.
