My ex psychiatrist encouraged me when I told her I wrote horror stories for role playing games with friends, she said it was healthy for me to keep my mind occupied. I miss her a lot; she was one of my best psychiatrist. (I moved a while ago and couldn't continue treatment with her. She made me feel very safe and heard)
