@markanstead: Can my wife spot the expensive wine blindfolded? Similar grapes in these two, and both from the Southern Rhone in France so roughly the same climate. Côtes du Rhône is based around Grenache with varying amounts of Syrah and Mourvèdre added in and sometimes other grapes. This one £7. Châteauneuf-du-Pape is the best ‘Cru’ of the Southern Rhone, made in a defined area and farmed at lower yields - often from older vines. Same grapes used, but it can include others up to 13 approved varieties (typically in small quantities). This one £29. A great way to tell the difference is to look for more intense flavour and one that lasts longer (called the finish). Follow us for more fun and tips like this.
There is a 50% chance of getting it right for anyone. You need to repeat the test with different wines each time ten or twenty times. Or sort 5 wines into order etc.

Well done Wifey 👍🏼 - But perhaps would have been better if 3 or 4 “Plonks” to one Posh lower the odds 👍🏼👍🏼🤠
