No one is legally obliged to give an account for a lawful activity to the police. guidance released by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) instructs police officers to refrain from violating civil rights, stop and account or abusing unjustified Section 43 of the Terrorism Act of 2000 when interacting with citizen journalists carrying out photography in public spaces. Section 43 of the Terrorism Act 2000 should be a LAST RESORT, and only when reasonable suspicion exists. Since the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015 came into force, just two officers have been charged with an offence under Section 26. Neither charge resulted in a conviction for the offence. That's 11 years, just 2 charged and no convictions. There are literally thousands of videos showing clear breaches of section 26 by the police, which is actually a criminal offense.
