Anti comminism edit 🚩🚫 (⚠️ENTERTAINMENT AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY, NO HATE IS INTENDED⚠️) The collapse of the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) occurred in December 1991 due to a combination of economic problems, political instability and growing independence movements. During the 1980s, the Soviet economy struggled with shortages of food and consumer goods, low productivity and the enormous cost of maintaining its military during the Cold War. In 1985, Mikhail Gorbachev became the Soviet leader and introduced two major reforms: glasnost, which allowed greater openness and freedom of speech, and perestroika, which aimed to restructure the struggling economy. However, these reforms weakened the Communist Party’s control and exposed problems within the Soviet system, encouraging people to demand political freedom and change. At the same time, several Soviet republics, including Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, demanded independence from Moscow. In August 1991, hard-line Communists attempted a coup to remove Gorbachev, but it failed and further weakened the Soviet government. Boris Yeltsin, the leader of the Russian republic, gained influence, while more republics declared independence. Eventually, on 26 December 1991, the USSR officially dissolved into 15 independent countries. Its collapse marked the end of the Cold War, ended decades of Soviet Communist rule and left the United States as the world’s leading superpower. #FYP #FY #History #Poland #creatorsearchinsights
