u have to colour in the char if ure using a coloured background, use a better optical flare, use a gradient ramp and put it to multiply to make real shadows(next to ur already existing one) add some deep glow to just a slight bit, use bokeh for ur background and preferably magic bullet looks on ur entire thing.
