Those wooden houses are highly advanced engineering. Europe is starting to build with wooden houses like they do in America. The reason they don't, especially in u. K, is, there is no lumber United States. North America is full of lumber. That's why we build with it.\n As far as the numbers go there on one side of the road and evens on the other side of the road. The numbers skip usually depending on the lot size. But they don't go in order. They can skip 10 numbers or 5 numbers or 2 numbers. There is no rhyme or reason besides plot size

FL 🗣️this is a tail tale of how things are changing in Florida cause y'all know homes are not normally built like that in FL. FL homes solid. I have never seen homes built like that in Florida. And they gonna want an astronomical price 🙂↔️🙂↔️

According to structural timber association, over 25% of new homes in the UK are built using timber frame systems, and this is rising as developers seek faster more sustainable building methods!! Timber framed construction is actually growing in (UK) popularity!!

England doesn't even need brick houses, you have mild weather and don't have the storms we have. Ps, the numbers are there before the house. They are built on a grid that starts at the city's center or (centre ) if you prefer

Wood is a plentiful domestic resource, so just like in Canada, we build a lot with wood. It's much cheaper than concrete, and it also makes more sense for alot of our weather and climate and also due to natural disasters (for instance you want wood for earthquakes and tornadoes, which is counterintuitive). In Florida, you'll actually see quite a bit of concrete which is better for flooding, as well as some brick, but also a lot of wood. Weather in Florida can also be brutal on wood. If you ever visit the southwest, namely Arizon and New Mexico, you'll find a lot of homes built with adobe homes which look like classic Spanish missionaries. It's cool. And it makes sense for the climate there. So it really depends.

House numbers going up 2 4 6 or 8 at a time depend on lot size most of the time, if the lot could be split into multiple acceptable lot sizes for building an approved residence, the number will increase accordingly from house to house.

House numbers are based on lot size. Hence why older houses are by 2 (single lot) & newer houses are by 4 (double lot).

In North Carolina, your house address number depends on the distance from the beginning of that road. The address number increases with each 0.01 miles from the road beginning.

Those houses look like duplexes maybe so there are two houses they just have not numbered both.

I live in Florida near Daytona Beach. My 2 1/2 year old home is built of concrete block with stucco over that. Many homes in Florida are concrete block construction (the majority are in my city). Also, most streets in the US are odd numbers one side, even on the other going up in increments of two.

I have a theory i could be wrong but perhaps its more plot numbers rather than houses if you know what I mean, maybe those houses cove 4 plots rather than just one? if im right in gonna be so impressed with myself 🤣 xx

the house numbers are post office related. sometimes the odd numbers are across the street.

house numbers by jumps bigger two is to future proof the numbering system. it assumes that things like duplexes can be built in the future and they are trying to avoid addresses such as 243 1/2 which is a type of address you will see in the northeast U.S.

We do that here too, with the numbers. The only reason I can think is if they expect more than one family to live in the home or maybe someone else will build inbetween.

Where I live in North Carolina the house numbers go up in 2’s as you describe. Odds on one side, evens on the other.
