Unfortunately, as they say back in the day, we had to go back to work when our babies were six weeks old and basically we were expected to work like we didn’t have kids. It was not fun. You missed your baby and you felt guilty all the time. I’m glad that the moms of today are setting boundaries, especially at their jobs.

Is there a reason why management cannot step in for coverage per your job description when staff use their compensation packets?" follow up the physical conversation with an email recapping What was said in BCC your personal email. Especially when things like this always cover yourself in case they decide to make a dumb decision and let you go so an employment lawyer helps you out.

It was her first day back and the fact is that when your kid is sick as a parent you feel a responsibility not to expose other people to your kid’s illness. It’s one of those things you can’t really outsource.

I was told i couldn't be pregnant in nursing school, showed them, not only did I do multiple rounds of IVF, I worked and was a full time student. I graduated top of my class pregnant.

This is basically the expectation of all of us when we work and have kids. It’s the most ridiculous, frustrating, and unfair part of being a working mom. My children have always come first, never the job.

We choose between our work and our kids all the time. You have to come to terms with what feeling like you’re bad at one or the other will feel like. Yes you should be able to take PTO but also have to figure out how to keep both covered.
