Absolutely need a mallet putter with the caveat that they dont seem to have as good of speed control. Mallet putters are great for tour pros because they hit on pristine, fast greens. Your local course will have crappier greens where the concentrated weight of a blade is preferred.

I’ve been using a blade for 20 years. I tested the Phantom and I couldn’t believe what was happening. But I don’t trust those floorboards especially by the holes. I so put 2 balls in middle to replicate a cup and stuck another putt. Haven’t stopped thinking about the Phantom for 4 days now. $550 is crazy but mannnn

The trade-off is forgiveness over feel. My question is do we chip with something forgiving? Yet we putt with a shoe box? Hard pass… a tend that will swing the other way. Mallets were popular in 1990 and 2000’s.

I can't mallet. I just can't. And my ego wont let me Scotty. Played with an employees 2018 BB1 and loved it. Waited to but one and when I ordered it they sent me a 2020 BB1. Great putter, but finally found a used 18 Bettinardi BB1 Plumbers Neck and my putting is lights out.

If you’re gonna spend 300+ on a putter, make sure it’s the correct length. Most dudes don’t need a 35 inch putter. You probably fall in the 32-34 inch range. Average in tour is 33.5
