Yall in the comments hating bro some peoples immune systems are weak and one of the things it does with that is creates cold sores. I’ve been getting them for years I don’t have no “cooties” my mom gets them chronically, I get them circumstantially . Sunburns, season change, stressful times or when I am actually sick with a cold.

I started getting cold sores in high school after my entire soccer team passed around the same chapstick, its not always from something sexual or gross. I was just a kid, relax in the comments yall✋🏼

Lexy! I’ve also had cold sores my entire life, abreva never helped me. I get a prescription through my doctor it’s a pill you take when you get them. Also they make “cold sore patches”, the ones I use are called “Mederma”. Hope you’re doing well!

Many people have had them since childhood after being exposed by a parent, sibling, relative, or another child through everyday close contact, like kisses or sharing utensils. Others carry the virus and never develop noticeable cold sores at all, even though they may not realize they have it and can pass it to others. Herpes simplex viruses are extremely common. HSV-1 is the most common cause of cold sores, and many adults have been exposed to it. Some people get frequent outbreaks, some only get one or two in their lifetime, and many never have symptoms. There are two main herpes simplex viruses, HSV-1 and HSV-2. Either virus can infect the mouth or the genitals, although HSV-1 most commonly causes cold sores and HSV-2 more commonly causes genital herpes. The important thing is to avoid spreading the virus during an active outbreak by not kissing or sharing items that touch the sore and by following your healthcare provider's advice. Beyond that, people deserve understanding not judgment for having a very common virus....

They make patches just for cold sores. They're thinner and invisible. Much more comfortable than thicker pimple patches
