Can you imagine an entire rainforest that’s man-made? 🌳🏙️ It’s one of Kuala Lumpur’s largest green lungs, home to botanical collections, forest arboretums, and walking trails that remind you how restorative nature can be. The surprising part is that none of this was here a century ago. Every towering tree and every patch of forest you see today stands on what was once an abandoned tin-mining land. Through decades of careful restoration, it has grown into one of Malaysia’s most significant forest reserves and is now recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s proof that, given enough time and care, nature can find its way back. The skywalk, the landscapes, the guided walking tour. It’s easy to walk through a forest and admire how beautiful it is. It’s another thing entirely to understand what you’re looking at. We learnt why kulim trees carry a distinct garlicky scent, stood beneath towering tualang hardwoods, and craned our necks at the remarkable phenomenon of crown shyness, where neighbouring treetops refuse to touch, leaving delicate rivers of sky running between them. 🍃 For us, FRIM isn’t simply a place that preserves nature. It leaves you with a sense of belief. Belief that damaged land can recover, belief that a tree planted today can still matter a hundred years from now, belief that some of the most meaningful work we’ll ever do is work we’ll never personally benefit from. It makes you wonder what kind of places we’ll choose to leave behind for the next generation. We filmed this journey on the new OPPO Reno16 Pro. 🤳📱What we appreciated most wasn’t simply the camera, but how naturally it became part of the creative process. AI Remix Collage turned still moments into playful edits and gave us the freedom to tell the story a little differently. We also found ourselves using the new 0.6× ultra-wide selfie camera more than we expected. It’s surprisingly useful when you’re trying to fit trees, winding trails and everyone into the same frame without taking a step backwards. 📍FRIM, Kepong, Kuala Lumpur Find out more about OPPO Reno16 series via @oppomalaysia! #OPPOReno16Series #3DPopPlanetDesign
