The reason we haven’t gotten a proper adaptation since the 97 one is because of MANY reasons: - The artstyle of the Manga is borderline IMPOSSIBLE to animate, even by today’s standards. - The 2016 adaptation tarnished any future attempts due to how poorly executed it was - The story is extremely dark, and would be difficult to market - After Kentaro Miuras passing in 2021, his team(studio Gaga) cautiously continued it - It needs the right studio to commit to it, and a big budget
