Are y'all raising him bilingual? Thats what we've done with my daughter. Strictly English with me and German with her mom, family, and friends. Shes 10 and she still throws in some German words when she speaks English with me 😂

I feel like I taught my husband English 😂😭 we live in NL and my husband is like…omg our son might be bullied for being superior in English 💕 but I feel the same way in reverse with Dutch!! 💕

My parents are from a tiny island in the Pacific Ocean.. yet they raised their family in the US. They went from a tropical paradise to a rocky mountain desert. I’m sure they felt the same way.

Children don’t necessarily like to be different, or stick out. My niece and my nephew spent 6 years as young children in Australia. They had the cutest accents when they came back to the states here in Texas. They ditched the accents pretty quick.
