I liked in Mass Effect they talked about how making stealth space ships was about hiding their thermal radiators and radio signals and overheating with lots of CPU onboard while trying to stay in stealth mode could be a real challenge

As someone who used to work at a data center for the last four years+ this has to be one of the dumbest ideas I have ever heard of. Data centers aren’t just built and servers put in and that’s it. Engineers have to be on site all day everyday to do maintenance, cross connects, inventory, audits, and hundreds of other things. Are they also going to build out space stations for people to live in or fly them up everyday? I just can’t with people lol. 🙄

What they should do is require that each datacenter be powered by nuclear reactors on their own separate grid where the water is recycled through both the nuclear plant and to cool the datacenter.

Great points. so of the three ways to dissipate heat convection, conduction and radiation, how can we best make use of the third and only one that applies in space? I know that's where you're going but I just have to ask the question;-)

It's so dumb, more space junk. The latency from ground to space is worse than fiber by an order of magnitude.Not to mention you can't radiate heat without atmosphere, Scott Manley is good at orbital dynamics but way off when it comes to heat radiation in space. Plus all the maneuvering, it's just nonsense.
