This is so true. I have a mgr underneath me and she’s my do-er. She overextends to everyone on our team, and I keep telling her to prioritize leading, instead of fixing.

✨This one stumps me: How about when the senior director promotion is approved by the group’s leaders BUT it sits in HR for a year+ !?!? Is this a question of visibility as you speak of in your video or anything that can be done to speed it up? Still a question of getting in front of Senior Leadership or what can one do to help the promotion case while in this never-ending waiting period!?

I think this applies to any level. Where during the entry-level positions you’re doing probably 50% work and the other 50% is visibility/building relationship. Then you continue to decrease on the workload, this is just my opinion.

As someone who just joined a team as a salaried manager I have enough experience to know that I am not working as hard lol I will be absolutely playing the game because I also don’t intend on staying in that role over a year
