hi!!!! i’m a peds OT!!! those pencils may still be too advanced for him and hard to use!! I’d recommend thick and short pencils or broken crayons in order to work on proper grasp and fine motor precision/strength!!

Get some golf pencils! They’re shorter and a little easier for tiny hands to hold. That’s what we use in my prek classroom

The whole socialization argument is old. There’s so many homeschool resources. Find a good co op and go to homeschool events in your area!

Defo use a back guest room - it will help them associate that room with a “learning” environment and keep your living room a homey space for them. I know it will all be homey regardless but you know what I mean 🥰

I am in a early childhood class I suggest him working with his hands. So like playdoh to get his muscles in his hand stronger before writing. Also involving play as much as you can is also good they learn the most through play.

Try to find these puzzles. They are easy bc they can do the puzzles but then they’re also making the words without realizing it and it’ll help them read!!
