I have been wearing mine for 4 1/2 years and I still can’t be confident enough to wear my hair up outside of home. I get so much anxiety when people notice them and just stare at my ears. I have severe tinnitus in my left ear which is the one with the hearing loss and my hearing aids don’t help as much as I wish they did. I could definitely use some words of encouragement. 💕

Omg, I’m the exact same way, I had an infection that damaged the nerves in my ears when I was little & have been hearing impaired with hearing aids ever since. Im 27 now, & I’ve always tried to hide that I have them or would feel insecure showing them or telling people & would get made fun of all the time when I was younger & people were/can still be ignorant. But I’ve gotten better at being more confident with them 💕

Oh my gosh, this is so relatable. I became hearing impaired in 2024 and have hidden it. I'm having my cochlear implant on Monday and I'm sooo nervous. Thank you fo sharing this side of it. x

did u ever get judged for them? the nhs wanted to give me small ones first and I just came to peace with that but today they said I need slightly bigger ones and its triggered my anxiety off 😢

mother to a hearing impaired daughter and chanced upon this! thank you for sharing on this and being a hearing person exposed to the hearing impaired community, i feel there needs to be much more awareness on it to the general public! it is much more common than we think!! ❤️❤️
