I think what you are not taking into consideration, is that people in every day life don’t have time to make friends. So usually the friends that happen in adult hood is; people from work, or neighbours. You guys hang out in a casual setting so often, in their brains you are friends. Even if it is a work thing, to an everyday guy you are probably mates anyway.
