I recently did this same layout with my office and it’s a game changer

How do you feel when “the wall” is a window so you’re actually looking outside? It’s a smallish room

In theory I love it. The room you show is an open floor concept though. I’m one of the people that has an office/guestroom combo. It’s a 10x12 room with a full size bed and desk in it and realistically we don’t have the space to put the desk in the middle of the room. I would love to see options for when you have a small room!

If the person is on video calls all day, ideally they are facing the window. Follow the. Studs

I wish I had that much space. I have a sofa bed and shelves (currently have my desk worked into my shelves) and would LOVE to have a table in the middle of the room so I could have my back to the wall but it’d be such a waste of space in a 10 x 12 room. I’d not only be walking into a room with a giant black widescreen monitor in the center but I’d have to undo my entire desk to get the bed out.

I love my desk pulled out into the room, wall behind me. it feels super luxurious and looks great on zoom. here's my thing: I put my desk on castors so I can easily roll it aside to convert to guest bedroom. 100% recommend.

My desk faces the room and my office is also where I have a lot of my art and exotic plants and it makes my day so much more enjoyable!!!

I feel like you cheated. The question mentioned 3 and you used an example that barely qualifies as 2. That is also a tiny monitor by 2026 standards. Most people are using at least 27 inch wide screen monitors, and generally 2 these days. But it's ok, I don't think this problem has been solved by anyone yet

Love it, feels so refreshed and I feel more safe just looking at it. But what if my layout is so difficult and the room very small that I need built ins and a desk shelf situation to make everything work?

It is so much better! That’s what we did with mine, but I took over the formal dining room and made that table my new desk and then hung a gorgeous mural behind me.

The spare room bed is in my way of getting to do something like this butttt I did prioritize the desk facing a window and I loveeee looking out the window all day
