@robyn_holdaway: Got a little spicy with this one. Dear people of the Internet, please engage your critical thinking skills. Nothing is inherently safe, you need to make a decision about whether the benefits outweigh the risks. #chestbinder #binder #binding #nonbinary #transgender
Chest binders are great!! I have big boobs, like to run 🏃 and I wear one so my boobs don’t hit me in the face when I run …love a chest binder 🥰😝

Hell yeah robin - nothing is inherently safe but personally I am much safer, happier and kinder to myself when I am able to wear mine

Love this! I love my binders and I recommend them. Obviously everyone has specific needs and there are definitely people who can't bind! In hindsight I am one who can't wear them anymore. I have POTS and wearing a binder lowers the threshold. So, any potsies, it might not be the best. Look for a "tighter sportsbra" as that does help and doesn't lower the threshold (at least mine) 😊 everyone needs to find out for themselves!

If you wear one and are still growing, if you’re building muscle or if you’re on T (especially the first 1-2 years) PLEASE regularly check your measurements and see which size you currently are, it often chabges slowly, but suddenly noticing that you’re now in the middle/upper end of the next bigger size isn’t fun, trust me.

I don't wear my dentures because they are not worth dealing with my overly sensitive gag reflex

I use foam breast forms because silicone is too expensive, and as I'm gender fluid I don't actually wear them all that often. When they are necessary I am very glad to have them however. Besides the fact that you can wear a lot of feminine tops without having a chest but most dresses are designed with boob room in mind. Thankfully I don't have any bottom dysphoria, so I've never had to tuck, and when I tried it in the past the discomfort was not worth the psychological effects. I did not feel like it was enough of a relief to walk around with that pressure.

I always find it weird when people have strong/aggressive opinions about things that have nothing to do with them. It just feels controlling and negative! So don't let them stop you from spreading useful information. We desperately need that transparency.
Personally I don't use binders. I've often wished I could, but my chest is too big!! But I can sometimes use them as a little table and that makes me smile. 😊

When people ask me about chest binders I send them to you. You save me a job and explain very well so thank you

I have scoliosis and hyper mobility syndrome. I always actually feel like my posture is better with a binder on. That could be in my mind, though. But I do make sure I take it off after a while. If I’m at work, I take a regular bra with me, regardless of how I feel with a binder on.

I have EDS and severe chest dysphoria. I only ever bind for 4 hours maximum and never if I will be more than 10 minutes from home so that I can change out of it as soon as it starts to hurt. I wish I could bind longer but it’s not worth the damage

I personally bind with tape but before I learned to bind with tape I would wear a binder even tho after only a couple of hours I would get insane back and rib pain and I would get out of breath really quickly but it was all worth it to not spend all day feeling dysphoric and to be able to wear clothes I liked that fit me instead of only oversized hoodies

I never wore a binder. I had very large breasts. I lost 6.5 pounds of flesh. Top surgery was for me and I’ve never looked back. 4 months post op and I’ve not been happier. Your content is great. You’re so articulate

Even water can be lethal but we need it to live! The first time I wore a binder that actually fit I sobbed when I saw my reflection. It was the first time I truly saw myself since puberty hit me like a train

Most doctors recommend that any compression garments are not to be worn for longer than a few hours. I've never needed to bind my chest as such, but I will absolutely double up an underwire bra and a stretchy sports bra for horse riding. Working in those undergarments for 10+ hours a day would get uncomfortable and if it was too tight it would affect deep breathing. For anyone who has chesticles please be careful and listen to your body 💖

Going to sleep is a risk. Waking up is a risk. All of life is a risk until death. All we can do is mitigate it to the lowest possible probability with the knowledge we have.

I'm hoping to one day get top surgery. Having a large chest is the worst for my dysphoria. But I also have sensory issues around tight clothing and trans tape

I have HSD and occasionally it makes my ribs slip. And that absolutely hurts and sucks but I'd rather deal with that than the dysphoria I get when I'm not binding. I can't wait until top surgery, maybe then my ribs will stay in place xD
