@travel_.talk: The every day engineering in China is so impressive to me, especially the basic pedestrian infrastructure - Basically, making cities more “walkable”. Here, Instead of letting people cross a busy 6 lane street, engineers decided to build this insanely impressive 4 way suspension bridge, making crossing the street way safer, especially for the elderly or families with children. This is one example, but overall every city i visit in China feels specifically designed for pedestrians to walk, and little details like this make a huge difference. Have you ever seen a 4-way pedestrian bridge like this in the US? #asia #USA #city #travel #Tech

Raised sidewalks exist in the US people. Not exciting at all. China is a slave labor country. Have a great day.

I’m really curious though; does it have provisions for people with disabilities? Is someone in a wheelchair able to get up there to use the bridge?

In the US, they would take forever to build it unless they charged pedestrians to use it.😒

same in Hong Kong, it's like they got lots of engineers and money, and they just keep building cool stuff to make people's lives better all over the place

No, we're a capitalist nation, so we don't plan for how to make society the best it can be. We just plan for how we can extract money from everybody.

In the US they would have to have cages enclosing the tops of those bridges

Bro, you have to visit Japan, they even have underground cross roads and there is a whole city built in underground. Incredible, i have never seen anything like that.
