Okay is it as bad as everyone says? I heard that banks monitor your account so closely that some people are even scared to get groceries because they won’t get approved if they spend so kich

Idk if it’s because we don’t have debt or any other assets but I just gave my lender all our statements and W2’s and the underwriting took a week. Really wasn’t that crazy

My husband and I got a house and then he lost his job and no one will buy our house and we’re going to have to take out a loan to close if we sell it 😭

I’m a homeowner and my unsolicited advice is: buy a house you can afford to make payments on with only your income or your partners (if you have one) income. That way if anything happens to one of you (loss of job, illness, death, etc) it won’t drown you. Number two is the most important and that’s TAKE INTO ACCOUNT NEXT YEARS TAXES and how it will affect your payment. I know people who didn’t do this and their 1800 mortgage changed to 3400 per month the second year of owning.

I mean, when you look at the bank statements and see what you’re spending money on before you send it to them it does feel embarrassing but they understand that we’re people with lives 🤷🏻♀️

Literally just find the house you want, hire a real estate attorney to write you up a contract with an offer and submit it to the listing agent! You do not need a real estate agent! Make sure you do a title search and have a COMPETENT inspector do an inspection and that’s about it!

saving for that down payment while ALSO paying rent was awful. Basically paid 2 mortgages for 6 months so all I ate was buck dollar dinners to cut corners 😭

Our lender called us to ask for “missing history” because we didn’t have any activity history for a week… we honestly just hadn’t spent any money because THEY TOLD US to not make any big purchases .

I warn people like once a week that whatever your mortgage is, add like $800 to it per month because that’s how much I average in home maintenance. We had a tree that needed to be cut down and it was $7000.
