@Jess: That’s what I’m doing. I have used several projects for my homelab as projects for school. I built a mini pc out of a raspberry pi 6 as a way to learn Linux, computer parts, and to have a sandbox to play with coding. I repurposed it to be a DNS and pi-hole and have all my wireless running to it. Practice documentation as much as you can.

after a year of homelabbing, i have a 25tb ceph pool mixed with sata and sas hdd’s, i got a disk array otw with 15 slots

at the moment I'm using my own PC running hyperv Vm with podman running PiHole..hoping I will have the opportunity to build my own homelab server
