She reportedly secured work at Neath Port Talbot Hospital and the Caswell Clinic in Bridgend by presenting forged identification and false documents through multiple staffing agencies. Court reports said she and two accomplices used the scheme to bill the NHS about £16,000 per month. The fraud was only discovered when a receptionist noticed that the photograph on her ID badge appeared to have been manually inserted rather than properly printed. When she was challenged and asked to provide the usual shift paperwork, she refused, prompting the matter to be escalated to senior management and treated as a critical incident. Investigators later revealed that while on duty, Adeleiyi had allegedly shown troubling behaviour, including locking herself inside ward rooms and interfering with corridor doors. She was also found to have accessed confidential patient information and made entries in clinical notes despite lacking the required clinical training. Health officials told the court that while no patient was physically harmed, the risks created by an unqualified person working in a secure NHS setting could have been catastrophic. At Cardiff Crown Court, Adeleiyi admitted four counts of fraud by false representation. She was sentenced to 10 months in prison on each count, to run at the same time, but the sentence was suspended for two years. She was also ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work. The case also led to action against others involved and prompted tougher checks on how NHS agency workers are verified before being allowed onto hospital wards. For me though her actions were bad and needs to be addressed,I am also looking at the situation from another angle and based on that brings up this question I would like to ask, Was she able to perform her duties perfectly if yes then I think the world needs to adjust the way we employ our health workers because sometimes practical in a form of artisanal training can also help not only based on theories and writings

when I worked at the nhs, I changed job and moved to another team, (literally the office next door) I had to bring in all my certificates again and get 3 new references including a character reference.

Agency staff have quite an impressive hourly rate as well as extras for last minute calls to cover on a ward. They aren't salaried so don't get holiday pay etc This figure sounds about right for two of them
