@yataqii: If a chaser is twice as fast as the target, you’d expect a quick intercept. But what happens when the chaser is forced to follow a "Pure Pursuit" rule? #Physics #Mathematics #ScienceCommunication #STEM #Education

a pursuer can never catch up to it's target. There are an infinite number of halfway points it will never be able to cross all of them.

Yall realize it’s a right triangle. Knowing C (using Pythagorean notations) will always be 2a, you can assume theta A will be 30, and b will be 60. Therefore the simple calc is “a = b * tan(theta A). Rreturning 17.32m as the height of object 1. (There is no acceleration given, no friction or mass so there is no physics involved, just math)

Started working out the diff eq, decided I’d rather just see the solution and how you explain it.

P is gonna be at 18.54 approximatly. koeficient of curvature, damping and atractor is gonna be 0.756 app, so the curve is gonna be 37.133 approximatly.

since the blue point is described by (0, vt) we can calculate the height y=v • t_intercept for different v values by the plot below, where we simply take the product of the point coordinates below. Cool problem :)

I don’t know the answer but I’d like to know if the curvature is naturally the fastest route or whether anticipating the point of contact and plotting a straight line would be quicker!?

just making a huge guesstimation, but wouldn't it be around ⅓ the length of B?
