Hi all. Just thought I’d share some happy Sunday WIP. Fresh from the ecopour powder resin and acrylic paintpen vase project, my brain started whirring into gear. Whilst it was fun creating something from nothing, parts of the colour application were, to be fair, clunky. Even with fine tip pens they’re not very accurate. So…….. how would my highly sharpened watercolour pencils perform on the same cast mold instead? 🤔🤔🤔. Answer is - beautifully. As a colourist of around 14 years, I’m really experienced at applying colour to create realism. But I have to say, the smooth surface of the cast allows the pencils to blend beautifully and being able to keep the tip of the pencils super sharp allows much more accuracy into the tiny corners and crevices of the design. They layer up well and small errors - or the inevitable accidental dabs - easily scrub away with a metal microfile. What’s more, the pencils are highly pigmented and so won’t fade. This will get a light coat of spray varnish when finished; I’ll make sure to post photos of the completed piece. @Apexresinuk EcoPour Resin, Faber Castell Albrecht Durer Watercolour Pencils 120 Tin and an intricately designed Temu vase mold. 🎨🎨🎨 #watercolour #ceramics #paint #pencil #happy
