The issue you had with the text is called museum fatigue, and its an issue in museums that don't focus on engagement very well. Especially with text, it becomes overwhelming. The curators need to work on that.

I’m born and raised in New Mexico and I went to the Roswell museum a bunch as a kid and It is such a shame how poorly done it is now. It used to be fun, silly, and immersive and now it’s just a bunch of walls of text that actually had me believing in aliens less than before lol I’m sorry you had a bad time but please check out Carlsbad Caverns since you’re in the area!
