Naruto is a phenomenally written character imo. The changes he goes through in the manga, the obstacles he faces, the growth he undergoes, it's all pretty amazing. Ofc people misunderstand the series as an "underdog working his way to greatness", but it's not about that. It's about a young kid discovering the world of violence around him, and taking responsibility for the trashy decisions of the past generation. And also saving the person who is a mirror to himself (sasuke), the one who knew him better than anyone hands down.
