Another thing is to STAY OFF YOUR PHONES WHEN WALKING IN PUBLIC. I see so many people on their phones not paying attention to their surroundings. I teach my granddaughters to listen to their intuition.

I use to go jogging every morning when I was a teenager. Always the sametime,always the same path. Six am every morning. My grandma told me I shouldn't always keep the same routine every single day. Because bad people pick up on that.

I read a book years ago called the Gift of Fear. It talks all about how your “gut” feeling is also thousands of pieces of information your brain takes in that you’re not consciously aware of. Tiny clues that tell your gut feeling to turn on. It’s fascinating. Always trust your gut.

My cousin and I were staying in a hotel for a concert. We were on an elevator and a man got on. He didn’t push any buttons, didn’t look to see if his floor was pressed and didn’t say a word. When we got off on our floor, we both ran in the opposite direction of our room and back down to the lobby without discussing it. We just knew not to go there. I still think about it all the time.

I was followed on a walking trail once when I was a higher schooler. I had my dog with me. I went to turn around and I saw a guy behind me. Thankfully I knew the trail well and I knew a spot where it came out by a local store with lots of people. The guy followed me all the way. I remember I stood in the store parking lot to see if he would come out to come to the store and he never did.

When I was 19 I used to work at a fast food place. One day my boss told me that this lady called up for me at the store on my day off. I thought it was weird. Then one day I was working she calls again and I go to the phone and she started saying. “ omg I see you at the drive through all the time and I just think you’re such a good worker. And I’m sure you hate working here.. I would love to offer you a job!” I was so excited. I gave her my number… I then go home and start telling my mom and she said that doesn’t sound right. Let’s look up the address that she sent you. We looked it up and it was some warehouse! My mom then told me I wasn’t going to the interview and I was so mad at her. Then I started to sit and think and had a really bad feeling. I then cancelled the interview and the lady cussed me out and kept telling me how I would’ve made people so happy! Thank god for my mom and thank god for protecting me and giving me the discernment.

My late husband told me I was like a turtle and I was always nosey but I keep my head on a swivel because you never know who is watching you. I have friends who is in law enforcement and they have told me the same thing. I always am scanning the places I go and watching my environment to see if anyone or anything is not right. I also when I travel I take protection as well.
