@urbanfarmertv: Gardening for food freedom 💚 If there’s one thing the ongoing crises have shown us, it’s how dependent most of us are on systems we don’t control. We take what’s available, even when prices go 2x or 5x. We don’t always know where our food comes from or how it’s grown, produced, or sourced. And most of the time, we don’t really have a say in it. This is what pushed me to start growing what I can. I know I won’t grow everything, but even a small part makes a difference. It gives me a sense of security. A bit more control. More awareness in what I eat, with less waste along the way. And a closer connection to what I’m actually eating. I help city people build mini farms at home, even without land or a big space. If this is something you’re into, I’d love to connect 🌱 And if you’re curious and want the tools and resources I use, check out the link in my bio #earthmonth #hydroponics #minifarm #indoorgarden #spring

I think we need to relearn these skills so we can pass them on too. So much tradition, independence and skill has been lost in modern society

The scariest thing is, after harvest, you still need seedlings from the same dangerous company.

Doesn't your system run on power? That won't be available if the system fails.

If the goal is to be self sufficient when the system fails you should be practicing with material that does not rely on the system to make. Example starting sprouts in soil instead of a using a hydroponic system that is made out of plastic. It would be more practical learning that way, just sayin.
