Also, idk if you know this. But according to a tech when I used to work at Acura (Honda was right next door) said that both Type S and Type Rs use more of your brakes in R mode. Think of it as like a 4 wheel steering. Once again, I don’t know how true it is, but just something to think about

it's crazy, my 25 type r is at 24.5 mph, about 40 miles to work 5 days a week, last about 3-5 days and I barely push it...not in R mode

I’m in a 26 Si, and while considerably less powerful (e.g. you will get gapped by an Odyssey), it’s also a 6-speed manual, and I’m averaging 30 mpg mostly city driving. It also handles like a dream. The one interstate trip I took it on I averaged 40 mpg. But be warned, this thing is at 3,000 revs at 75 mph in 6th gear. Just about $10,000 cheaper than the R.
