Oscars tomorrow, so throwing it back to the first time I interviewed Jacob Elordi at the Narrow Road to the Deep North premiere in Sydney. Now he’s up for his first Oscar… do we think this is his year? 👀 #jacobelordi #oscars #redcarpet #academyawards #journalist

I was in 7th grade when I passed out in biology class. We were watching a video about snakes and they showed a girl with bike marks on her arms and legs, looking like death. I hadn’t eaten that day. I felt lightheaded, my vision drifting to the corner of the room, and before I knew it, I was out. Next thing I remember, a fairly Jesus-like image woke up me. “Kunzelman,” he said (my maiden name), shaking me gently. My blurry vision focused and revealed my biology teacher. I went home. I near passing out when I get my blood drawn or stand up too fast (POTS perhaps?) Which has always been a joke in my family as my older sister, mother, and aunts are all doctors or nurses. When it comes to anything medicine.. my body can hardly handle it. Mentally, I’m down to learn. But physically the blood drops from my head when things get icky. So what’s a girl to do? Remain uneducated and ignorant? Rely on 911 should an emergency occur? Turns out you can bleed to death in 2-5 minutes. 911 averages at 15 minutes when the call is placed. As someone who strives to take full ownership and authority over her life, this doesn’t sit right with me. I want to be prepared in case an emergency does happen. So I took a “Stop the Bleed course.” Exposure therapy. I learned so much and I’m so glad I did it, even though I was sick most of the time, laying the corner with my knees up. The best thing you can do is often face the uncomfortable. Your friend, Lexi
