@gameoftomorrow: If Universal Basic Income started in 2027, life would not suddenly turn into a world where everyone quits working. UBI simply means every adult gets a fixed amount of money each month, no strings attached. A number often discussed is $1,000 a month, or $12,000 a year, creating a financial floor beneath everyone. For some people, that could mean help covering rent, groceries, and bills. For others, it could mean having enough breathing room to leave a toxic job, cut back hours, or take a shot at starting something of their own. The bigger question is how to pay for it. One idea is that as AI and automation make companies more productive and reduce the need for human labor, governments could tax a portion of those gains and use that money to help fund UBI. In that sense, the same technology disrupting work would also help support people through the transition. Over time, if automation lowers the cost of goods and services, the amount of money needed to live comfortably could also fall. That could make work less about survival and more about building the kind of life you actually want. The real debate is whether UBI would create stability or unintended dependence.#ainews #Techtok #futuretech #robotics #autonomous

I think this is a very good ideea and if you are smart you can save from those money little by little and invest in some business that can bring you more money. And by the way, is true that the rents are 2k per month now, but only if you want to live in luxury. Otherwise you need to start from down to get high. They don't want people to recieve 10k a month and then do nothing. They want people to involve themselves in something. Otherwise you will lose the meaning of your life. If someone will give me £1000 per month, I have a lot of ideas how to invest those money to bring me more money from it.

Will there be no taxes? If no taxes, for unemployed people... I think 4k-6k per person per month is good for universal basic income. 👍 It's like collecting unemployment checks but lasts a lifetime 🥰

Can't grant UBI unless you put a legal cap on the cost of rent, groceries, utilities, daycare, gas

This was a good idea 20 years ago. I'm so burned out first 5 years of UBI I'm literally just going to sleep, go to therapy and focus on my inner child and nervous system.

It’s a soft version of communism that looks good on paper, but will not work in real life just like any other type of communism

nope.. UBI will cause a huge disparity in income.. rich vs poor. yes cost of creating goods and services will come down. but the people on the top of the chain will still charge a high amount .. and In this case the people who ain't rich will be living bare minimum..

universal high income $ 70,000 a year around $1,300 p/w we don’t want to be living on scraps. We don’t want to be told what we can buy what we can’t buy where we can travel where we can’t. For people that have properties the properties stay there if they wanna work from home they work from home and it’s extra money like fun money. people with no homes can get government funded housing man. They’re going to be making loads of money.

$1000 a month adds $4 trillion each year to our deficit. We currently take in 5.25 trillion and are already spending 7 trillion a year

I think humans are overworked in most countries. People might follow their passion and do work they find meaningful. Might reduce physical and mental health issues in the long run. There should be a universal income if this becomes the case.
