Hamburgers are not German. It has some German roots, but the dish in Germany was a raw minced steak. Not the same as a hamburger except the fact that both use minced beef.

In fact he is correct about hamburgers.
The hamburger has Germanic origins, with roots in the seventeenth century in the city of Hamburg, Germany, where ground beef was seasoned and molded. German immigrants took the "Hamburg steak" to the USA in the nineteenth century, where it gained bread and became popular. About the French fries is more complicated since French and Belgian argue about who invented it first. What really matters is it's not American.
