They wasted 1 hour between the collision and when the first lifeboat was launched into the water because people believed they’d be safer in the ship. After they realised they were sinking fast everyone panicked and the lifeboats weren’t even at full capacity

bacteria original comment about it wouldn't have mattered even if they were fully stocked with lifeboats. all the anxiety and confusion brought on by not having enough lifeboats would have made a significant difference, in my opinion, in the amount of time spent arguing, more people regardless of age or gender would have been sent out on lifeboats.
