@attorneyhillary: 4/15/26 Terrible immigration news. If you/your loved one is the beneficiary of an I-130 and you never left the country to go to their consulate appointment, our government is now sending you or your loved one notices to appear an immigration court to face being deported. In all my years, I’ve never had this happen. ##immigrationlaw##immigrationlawyer#
If they filed for the I-130 for a family petition o thought they have to go to their home country only when the 601a or 601 is approved and their consulate appointment has a date set. Can you clarify?

How about if I-130 was approved but the person never continued with the process or disregarded the I 130 approval like nothing happened

Gringa for Change :
we filed an I-130, but realized after it was approved (this past January), that we accidentally put it as an adjustment of status instead of the consular processing we need to do. I know we have to file form I-824 to fix it, but I keep hearing stuff like this and I am hesitant to even do anything right now.

I mean they can’t go back with just an I-130 have to have Approved 601A. First. So I’m confused.

Not to mention, if you get a deportation order in absentia, it's an automatic 5-year bar and there is NO waiver for it. Happened to my husband.
