@theshannykate_style: Your AC is working overtime and your energy bill shows it 👀 Sun heats it up. Dirt slows it down. This fixes both. I added a breathable cover to keep it clean (especially important in the fall/winter) and an AC fence to block direct sun Cleaner + cooler AC = better airflow and lower energy use. *Check your manufacturer guidelines before installing the fence. Mine says 18” from your home and fences. I also left one side open for airflow. Such a simple upgrade that makes a big difference Follow me for more home tips If you like this video, feel free to follow along for more
14 years hvac. The side fence panels are a decent idea with proper spacing. The top cover i wouldn’t recommend for airflow issues and it’s another thing to get dirty n stuff stuck to it when it’s not running.

HVAC expert here. Overall it's a good solution except the screen will cause some air backpressure that will reduce efficiency. If you find your electric bill is going up after this change, remove the screen first. In any event, well done 💪

DO NOT DO THIS!!!! You're blocking air flow!! get yourself an annual maintenance and if you live in an area where there's a lot of dust or cottonwood you may need to spray it down twice a season, usually in May prior to full use and mid season maybe mid July. You're welcome! A former HVAC service tech!

My dad who’s been doing HVAC for over 40 years told me 20 years ago to never do this because it blocks airflow and will damage your unit. Getting your outdoor unit cleaned annually by a HVAC technician will prevent dirt and debris from collecting on your unit.

HVAC expert here, 38 yrs experience- the fence is a great idea!! You need to put a roof about 10-12 inch above the fan as well and enclose it. You’re welcome 👍🏽👍🏽
